The shiny new version of Dead by Daylight Mobile is out now on Android, featuring overhauled graphics, new modes, and a raft of new multiplayer features.
For those unaware, Dead by Daylight Mobile initially launched back in 2020. It was developed by Behaviour Interactive, and was a standalone version of the hit 4v1 multiplayer game.
As of today, that’s gone – replaced with a new version developed by NetEase.
What’s Changed in Dead by Daylight Mobile?
Well, pretty much everything. Effectively, this is a totally new version of Dead by Daylight Mobile that replaces the original mobile version.
There are graphical improvements, which change the game’s appearance as well as including clothing and hair physics, new lighting, and enhanced character models.
But it’s the content that sees the biggest change, most notably with The Rift, which makes a triumphant arrival on mobile. For those unaware, this is Dead by Daylight’s battle pass, featuring 80 levels worth of rewards.
And What’s New?
Well, a ton of new multiplayer content, for one. Everything you want in a multiplayer game, including leaderboards, squads, chat, and fully-fledged player profiles are now a thing in Dead by Daylight Mobile.
There’s also a brand new mode, Quick Match, which dispenses with the ranking nonsense and allows you to just jump in a game and have fun. You still earn Bloodpoints, shards, and experience too.
It’s not all sunshine and roses though. There’s a gacha system known as ‘The Entity’s Treasure’, which has you pulling for cosmetics.
Though we’re not a huge fan of these gambling-style practices, at least none of the rewards give you a gameplay advantage.
Can We Expect More New Content in the Future?
Absolutely. In fact, NetEase has announced a road map of features that includes custom matches, a brand new tutorial, control tweaks, new systems for rank 1 players, and more.
What Happens to My Stuff From the Original Dead by Daylight Mobile?
Here’s where there’s good news. NetEase is allowing you to transfer all of your original cosmetics , and where this isn’t possible, you receive compensation – though we’re not entirely sure how you’ll be compensated.
You can’t transfer your rankings though. These are reset from scratch in the new version, so, unfortunately, you’ll have to work your way back up.
Alright, Where Can I Get it?
