The Expanse: A Telltale Series gets launch date

Telltale Games has kicked off its return by announcing the release date of its newest game: The Expanse: A Telltale Series, launching on July 27. It will continue releasing another of its five episodes every two weeks until September 2023. Check out The Expanse trailer right here:

Space is strange

Serving as a prequel to the TV series, The Expanse: A Telltale Series follows Camina Drummer (voiced by Cara Gee from the TV series), an explorer aboard The Artemis, off on a dangerous mission to “explore the dangerous and uncharted edges of The Belt.” Her work will see her scavenging from derelict ships, fighting off pirates, and dealing with a deadly mutiny.

The Expanse was developed by DeckNine, a studio with a pedigree for emotional stories like Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Life is Strange: True Colors. Which is appropriate given this is a Telltale game: Camina must make critical decisions that will decide the fate of various characters as well as the game’s ending.

The Expanse is the first new IP under the Telltale Games banner ever since it returned in 2019. Accordingly, The Expanse will be the “largest and most immersive exploration” of any Telltale Game to date. The only other Telltale Games entry on the horizon is The Wolf Among Us 2, which unfortunately has been delayed to 2024.

The first episode of The Expanse will launch on July 27 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders start on June 1, and pre-purchasing the game will allow you to play it one day early.
