Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s next 7-star Tera Raid will feature a mystery Pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s next Tera-Raid battle will feature a mystery Pokemon, it’s been announced.

The Pokemon, which will have a poison tera-type and the mightiest mark, will be the third 7-star raid following Charizard and Cinderace.

The Pokemon will only be catchable once per save file, and the event will run from 00:00 UTC on January 27 until 23:50 UTC on January 29.  The event will return from February 10 until February 12.

While it’s unclear which Pokemon will be included in the raid, the previous two 7-star raids have featured Pokemon that will be transferable into Pokemon Home, making the list of likely candidates much shorter than the large number of Pokemon not supported by the game.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s next update, Version 1.2, will arrive next month.

While details on exactly what the Version 1.2 patch will do are not yet clear, it’s said that it will “include bug fixes and add functionality”.

In VGC’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet review, we said the games were the most feature-rich Pokémon titles in years but suffered from technical issues.

“The huge expansion and changes to the single player campaign are great, the size of the world and the joy of exploration are the best in the series, and the new Pokemon and battle mechanics introduced all sing,” we wrote.

“However, it’s just impossible to shake the thought of how much better the game would feel if it was on more powerful hardware, or simply ran acceptably on Switch.”
