Journey to Kamura Village in Monster Hunter Rise


After the roaring success of Monster Hunter World becoming Capcom’s biggest selling game of all-time, a sequel was inevitable. However, the sequel was exclusive to the Nintendo Switch until recently. As recently as today in fact, as Monster Hunter Rise arrives on Xbox and PlayStation today.

Kamura Village will be your destination for this next instalment in the Monster Hunter series. Every 50 years an even known as the Rampage hits the village, filling it with dangerous monsters. Funnily enough, it has just turned 50 years since the last Rampage as you arrive at the village.

Monster Hunter Rise will feature the traditional 14 weapon types the series is known for. Veterans will likely already know which style they are going for. For newcomers, a chance to try them all and see which fits best with your gameplay stylings.

In fact, Monster Hunter Rise is as tailored for new players as it is for veterans. A new companion called a Canyne will offer guidance and help when taking out monsters solo. Of course, all the traditional multiplayer modes make a return in Monster Hunter Rise.

Monster Hunter Rise is on the Xbox Store now priced at £32.98 and included in Xbox Game Pass also. There are numerous options straight from the off to help you stand out in the crowd in the form of DLC. It is impossible to list them all here, but if you wanted to own most of them in one go, the Monster Hunter Rise Extra DLC Pack is on the store for £15.98. The special silk they shoot out can be used to zip up walls and across maps, and can even be used to pull off special attacks unique to each of the 14 weapon types in the game.
