The first teaser for DS2 debuted at the Tokyo Game Show in September 2022. During this period, the studio issued an image titled “Who Am I? ” under a face half obscured by shadow. Eventually, a QR code at PAX Australia leads to a Kojima Productions homepage displaying a photograph of Elle Fanning with the caption “Who am I? ” addressing popular speculations over the previous teaser poster.
